Ever hear the quote “In order to lead you must first serve” or something in those lines? I’m pretty sure you have. Service is wonderful; it gives everyone the opportunity to help those who are or were in the same circumstance as you. Many people see service as a burden or a christianly duty but it’s far more than that. It is a chance to change the life of someone and lead them to Christ. Nobody wants something from someone that really didn’t want to give them. I know I don’t. Try volunteering at a place you like or doing something you enjoy. God wants your best and you never know you might just being helping an angel 🙂
Diversion
24 AprDiversion, also known as, DISTRACTION is a device used to get the King’s children off focus. Diversion can come as people, problems, things, places. Most distraction aren’t eye popping and obvious. They weed into your life and before you know it, it’s blocking your entire view and you can’t see where you’re going. This has happened to me with school. Being in college is very stressful definitely when you’re a science major like me. Sometimes you put school before God and you slowly push Him away when He’s the one that blessed you. I got so boggled down by school that I didn’t pray as much or give Him everything He deserved and until recently I didn’t realize it. I got my act together and remember to put Him first, which has allowed me to do even BETTER in my classes. Find your distractions and get them out of your view. Nothing is more important than God.
Healing
24 AprToday I will give you a poem I wrote last night about God’s healing love. I hope you will enjoy.
Life Given
All I can say is sorry. I don’t deserve the life you gave on Calvary.
Your wonder and splendor fills my soul; torn
Your love so deep and washing…it leaves puddles in my soul. It runs deep in the ground filling cuts, cracks and holes
I was wrong in every way. I was in darkness Your love brought me day.
You deserve my life like what you gave to me; for me.
Just to set a lonely soul free
To soar, to worship
Eternally grateful for the life; I’m married to you just as a wife. I came to You weary and through. You healed me just as Your love could do.
Fame
10 Apr
We all want fame. It comes with money, power and everything you could ever want. That is the dream for many people today and in the past. When Israel first heard of the Messiah’s coming they assumed He would stop the oppression of countries that were causing them grief. Instead the Messiah was born in a manger in an Inn!! How was this baby supposed to save Israel and humanity?! He grew up having a normal Jewish life. He was a carpenter like His father Joseph. But Jesus was far from normal. He deserved all the fame and for whom He was but He didn’t have anything when He died on the cross for our sins. He saved the world by His actions and for that He is awesome!
A song with meaning
8 AprAll music evokes an emotion. My preferred music is gospel. I like worship songs, pop, just about everything but country (sorry country music fans!). Good music makes you feel something and hopefully it’s something positive and/or Christian related. Music that degrades people, uses profanity or is sensual can have a negative impact on your day or put you in the wrong mood. If you having problems with choosing positive music ask yourself “Would Jesus Christ listen to this?” This helps me a lot. Here are some musical suggestions; Gateway Worship, Jars of Clay, David Dunn, Casting Crowns, Trip Lee, Lecrae, Britt Nicole, Beckah Shae. Check them out!
Underappreciated
8 AprWorking hard, cheap pay, arduous work is the life of many people. Some people are police officers, factory workers while others work as janitors. Nobody wants to be over worked and unappreciated. Many of the most common jobs such as teachers, janitors and call center employees are unacknowledged by the people they served and are the 1st blames for problems and the 1st fired. Just know what is done in the dark shall come to the light. Just keep your head up high. God is watching and appreciates.
Meeting new People
7 Aprhttp://www.verbita.hu/verbita.php?page=isteniige2013page02
The new kid on the block; People stare, think your weird, make rumors but that’s only because they don’t know you. It’s difficult to make new friends when you’re not outgoing like others but just know you always have a friend in Christ. John 15:13 says “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” He said this to prepare His disciples for what was soon to happen. He wanted them to see Him as their friend someone they could trust. Christ is our friend, He is love and welcomes you to His Kingdom.
Relaxation
7 AprMatthew 6:31-34
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Life often causes us to worry about EVERYTHING; from clothes to what others think of us to class. We must remember that Christ has ultimate control and He already knows what you need. We should continually trust His sovereignty. He’ll always provide and never leave or forsake us. When we seek His face before we do anything else we can have confidence in His ability to support our wants.
Breaks
7 Aprhttp://www.5elementproject.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/HeartWords.jpg
Things break…a lot. Nothing in this world is unbreakable including things not seen like your heart. It broke God’s heart when back in Noah’s day that people sinned and didn’t care, it broke His heart so much that “… it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth” Genesis 6:6 (KJV). So the flood happened and only the faithful survived. God’s heart was so heavy from His love for us that He sent His only Son to die so that we could spend eternity with Him. His heart broke for us and we should have a heart like God so loving and forgiving that is sensitive to the needs of others
